We had a request, see below, looking to purchase a copy of the Battle of Dai Do video. Please comment on this thread (so others may also learn how to purchase for themselves) AND email Tom, linked in his name below:
Hello, I am an Association member and served with H&S Co. Com. Plt. 2/4 in 1972 /73. Years ago, we were offered a DVD which detailed the Battle for Dai Do, Vietnam. I purchased several copies that have now been lost. Is there any chance copies may still be available somewhere? Any help would be appreciated!

I didn’t know there was a video of Dai Do! I was there in H&S Company, too!
If anyone knows where/how to get a video I sure would like to know also!
The DVD is titled “Memories of Dai-Do”. Produced by Empire Media Group, 703-866-1934, http://www.empirevideo.com. You might try the Meuseum of the Marine Corps gift shop.
fyi, the Empire link isn’t working. (Kristen)
Tried searching, found on Amazon, but none in stock
I was at Dai Do. What happened has never left my mind. I was with HMM 362 helicopter squadron aboard LPH Iwo Jima. I was a machine gunner aboard a UHd-34 chopper and flew resupply and medevacs. Casualties were so high that our ship became a morgue and bodies were put on the aft end of the hangar deck.
A few months later, when I returned, I went to my town’s library to look up what I had seen. I found nothing and couldn’t believe it. I knew what I had seen. I remember seeing this giant of a man, Sgt. Major (I think that was his rank) big John Malnar and couldn’t believe he had been killed. He seemed so big and strong. So now, after 55 years what happened at Dai Do is recognized as a major battle. Far too many brave young men died there
I found a few different videos on YouTube. Just type “Battle of Dai Do” or just “Dai Do” in the Search box.
I came to Nam as one of the many replacements for Echo Co. after Dai Do. I’d sure love to have a copy of “Memories of Dai Do”. I’ll search in some of the suggestions. It seems to me that maybe the Association could make a dozen copies of this video and make them available to members at a reasonable cost. If the demand for them was great enough more copies could be made.
This is just a suggestion, because I don’t know what requirements there would be in order to obtain copies.
Seems like an option… but if we could only find the copies. I see from some of the other posts, that there are videos on YouTube that might work to view as well. Keep us posted, here, on what you find.
I have a copy I bought many years ago. I am not sure about the legal aspect of making copies. If legally o k I would be willing to send it to someone who could do that. Even better would be to copy it onto cd’s.
I don’t know if it’s the one you’re talking about but there’s a video in several parts on YouTube
You can purchase “Against all odds”: Tha Magnificent Basturds of 2/4 on Ebay. Pretty accurate. Hope this helps
As then Vice Pres of Empire Video, I directed that video,. For my efforts and dedicationto those Marines and docs, I was personally honored as a Life Memer of 2/4 by “Wild Bill” General Weise was the key narrator. It was shown in New Orleans at 2/4’s 30 year since Dia-Do.
